In other news, the studio recently revealed Sol Cresta, and if you’re more into the developer’s bigger hits, you should know that you’ll still have to wait a while for Bayonetta 3. Players will expand their arsenal of abilities to conquer all foes that stand before them, ultimately facing the fearsome Shuten Doji, lord of all oni.Īt the moment, it seems World of Demons will remain as an Apple Arcade exclusive for a while, as Platinum has announced no plans to bring the game to other platforms. Along the way, they’ll meet samurai allies and a menagerie of yokai, each with their own techniques and combo possibilities. The game is set in a beautiful environment inspired by traditional Japanese artwork with gorgeous stages pulled from ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Players will assume the role of a samurai leading an army of yokai minions as they embark on a mission against evil. A summary for the game can be found on Platinum’s website: But none of this hurts the experience too bad.World of Demons was first announced all the way back in April of 2018. Generally favorable reviews based on 13 Critic Reviews Whats this Summary: Known for their console action and PC games including NieR:Automata and the hit Bayonetta series, PlatinumGames thrust players into a fantastical world full of yokai - a class of supernatural monsters and spirits from Japanese folklore. Last issue I can think of is the enemies will bug out if targeting a Yokai too long and won’t attack you (happens when using Santaro). You sometimes target non-enemies even if enemies are present (rare but frustrating). You cannot see the Yokai names in the selection menu. Another thing I dislike is the level gating of the next story chapter just to force you to do more side missions. Oh and I am on an iPhone X and it plays great so not sure why people with newer iPhones say it is unplayable.Ī few downsides are that it forces you to watch all the into and outro and if you got a lot of new Yokai and items be prepared to wait awhile while tying to get to the next screen. Also I just love the combat and the overall aesthetic of this game and even the story is interesting (especially if you really like traditional Japanese mythical lore like I do). Playing with a controller and a phone grip that connects to the controller I felt like I was playing those console quality games. This feels like a cross between Soul Sacrifice and Muramasa Demon Blade. Handheld Quality Level Game Thu chev_327_fox If the developers can fix the issue or at least reply back & explain it to me I'd be much more interested putting my all in the game. That's literally the only problem I have with this game. That just doesn't make sense to me if I'm taking the time to go back to try for an SS only to end up wit a A rank. It will give me 14 hits when I literally did a 30 hit combo □. I will grind stages I've already done to get an "SS" but getting a "B" In hits will cause me to get an "A" overall ranking, which is annoying. I didn't go through the tutorial so I don't if that was covered or not but it's getting annoying. My only caviot with this game is that the rating system for hits are confusing. Sometimes I just do missions I've already done just to level up because it's easy (I'm on beginner mode right now). Only when it gets hot and the frame rate drops, but that's on the phone- not the game. I'm playing on a 12 pro max so it holds up well. Controls are good once you tune them right and the graphics are good. I like the challenges, makes you go back and actually try to get double SS ratings. The game is great for when you're bored and wanna just kill some time. Sharpen your steel as this samurai tale is about to begin.
